Membership

The National Ayurvedic Medical Association is open to everyone who supports our mission, purposes and goals. The levels of membership in NAMA are:

All membership applications are reviewed by NAMA to insure that the applicant meets the requirements of the membership level applied for. After review, if the applicant has met all requirements, the applicant will receive NAMA membership material in the mail. If there are questions, the applicant will be contacted.

Below is a description of the types of memberships and the membership fees. You will need the free Acrobat Reader from Adobe to view and print the application documents below.


General Membership

This level is for any person supportive of the mission, purpose and goals of NAMA.

Fees: $50 a year

Student Membership

This level of membership is for students who are enrolled in a full time state-approved academic educational program who are supportive of the mission, purpose and goals of NAMA. We consider a full time student one who is enrolled in an academic program leading to a degree or certificate. There is a 3 year limit for full time student membership. Distance Learning courses are considered in this category with a one year limit. Those individuals applying for NAMA Student Membership must supply proof of current enrollment in good standing from their school.

Practitioner Level Membership

This level is for Ayurvedic practitioners or professionals, who meet the established NAMA criteria applying to this level. With a Practitioner Level Membership, you will be eligible to be listed in the NAMA Practitioners Directory and purchase Independent Professional Liability Insurance.

Fees: $150 a year

To apply please print out and mail in our NAMA Practitioner Membership Application. The Education and Experience Document should be filled out by the school from which you graduated.


Corporate Membership

This membership category is available for corporations or companies that are supportive of the mission, purpose and goals of NAMA that wish to support the organization financially.

Fees: $250 a year

Educational Membership

This membership category is available for approved schools and/or schools which meet NAMA standards for offering Ayurvedic education and programs and wish to support the organization financially. (Example, any of the Ayurvedic schools, universities with Ayurvedic studies programs, etc.)

Affiliate Membership

This membership category is available for any trade or business organizations that are supportive of the mission, purpose and goals of NAMA that wish to support the organization financially. (Example, State Ayurvedic Associations, Yoga Associations, Limited Liability Companies, Partnerships, etc.)

Benefactor

Individual or organizational members who choose to go beyond the usual membership fee to support NAMA financially. Benefactors shall receive special recognition on our Member Directory and in any published list of members.

Annual Sponsors

Organizations that choose to participate at the annual NAMA conference as well as be a part of NAMA as an organizational member throughout the remainder of the year. Details are available and application is made through the conference website to allow for appropriate coordination. Annual Sponsors are specifically recognized at the conference and the appropriate organizational membership lasts through the following year.

Contribution Policy Statement

As a non-profit organization, we rely on your contributions to continue our work on behalf of the Ayurvedic profession in the USA. Please consider giving generously as your contributions will help Ayurveda become established in the USA.

Contributions and Benefactor Membership fees may be tax deductible as a business expense for all individuals and organizations. However, as a non-profit trade association, 501 (c)(6), contributions to the National Ayurvedic Medical Association are not personally deductible as charitable donations.
